Abstract

With the dependence of gas turbine efficiency on the turbine inlet temperature, various cooling methods had been applied to maintain the acceptable turbine blade temperature. Film cooling techniques is one of the efficient and more complex mechanisms. In this review journal, a comprehensive report on film cooling methods, procedures, applications, experimental approach towards film cooling, CFD simulation methods for film cooling, result analysis from the latest research had been compiled. The literature review had focused on the CFD simulation practices by the recent researchers in order to obtain the comparable results with experimental data. A summary from all these researches had also been provided in the concluding section of this paper. Key Words: Film Cooling, Gas Turbine Blade Cooling, CFD, Film Cooling Effectiveness, etc.
